The laws of this country have been built up over many years and sometimes flawed though they are, they provide a framework of civilised behaviour. Allowing our fellow Britons to opt out of the ones they don't like on the grounds of religion is madness. If this is allowed I shall become a Jedi and become selective about those I obey too. I assume that would not be allowed since I don't denigrate women and homosexuals?
Will no one rid us of this troublesome Priest to us a line from History!

As a Yank and 'retired' Catholic, I don't understand the ins-and-outs of the Ecclesiastical law of the Church of England, but isn't there some way to depose this dhimmi?

I am a practicing Christian believe it or not. I give these idiots £50 a month in the collection - my wife runs the Sunday school which my kids attend. I used to help out lots with the grounds etc until I realised my good will was being abused. We've had lefty vicars accuse our people of being 'endemically racialist' in the past. I think the CofE is endemically leftie - I'm withdrawing my funds and support forthwith. My wife can do as she chooses, but from her outburst at this news I gather she'll be following me.
